Center’s Peace interlocutor reviews over all situation of Haflong

The Centre’s peace interlocutor, Mr. P C Halder met the leaders of various communities, associations and student bodies at Haflong, the district headquarters of North Cachar Hill District and reviewed the over all situation of the district. Mr. Halder who has arrived in Guwahati on Tuesday to start the preliminary Peace talks with three extremist groups of Assam. The three outfits under cease-fire agreement are -Jewel group of Dima Halam Daoga, DHD (J), commonly known as the Black Widow group, United People's Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) and the pro-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB). He will stay in the State for at least four to five days and he would be holding preliminary talks with the leaders of the outfits. He will visit to Diphu and Kokrajhar for talks with the leaders of both UPDS and the pro-talk group of the NDFB to know their minds and demands.<br/>
