Centre will soon set up a committee headed by Dr. Jitender Yadav for making new guidelines for state governments for spending funds. Responding to the clarifications of the Members in the Rajya Sabha today, the Home Minister, Mr. P.Chidambaram said this will go a long way in diverting the funds meant for a particular work. Mr. Chidamabram conceded that over 678 crore rupees were diverted by Delhi Government for Commonwealth Games by violating the rules. He said, the NCT Government has assured the Centre that it will revert the funds meant for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Earlier Members while seeking clarifications from the Home Minister expressed serious concern over the diversion of funds.
