Center will procure 1.50 lakh tonne pulses this year to create buffer stock. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramvilas Paswan said, the Ministry has already procured 50,000 tonne of pulses from Kharif crops and has plans to purchase one lakh tonne through Rabi crops this year. He said, this is being done so that there is no panic in future for pulses. Mr Paswan said, an additional fund of Rs 500 crore has been provided to increase the production of pulses. <br/><br/>The Minister also said that more than three crore 75 lakh bogus ration cards have been seized. Mr Paswan said over ten crore ration cards have been linked with Aadhar card so that the benefit of the scheme reached the targeted person.
