The Centre has has decided to release ten thousand tonnes of unmilled Tur and Urad dal to the States at the rate of Rs 66 per kilogram and Urad dal at Rs 82 . <br/><br/>After milling the states can distribute these pulses at not more than 120 rupees per kilogram in retail. An official release said, States have been asked to immediately tell their requirement for allotment of the two commodities for retail distribution through their channels. <br/><br/>The government has built a buffer stock of 50 thousand tonnes by way of domestic procurement. Additionally about 26 thousand tonnes of Tur and Urad dals have also been contracted for imports. <br/><br/>The decision has been taken to contain the rising prices of pulses which is ruling high at 83 to 177 rupees per kilogram range in most parts of the country.
