The center has distributed over 7 Lakh Post-Matric Scholarships under Minority scholarship scheme during last fiscal. According to an official release, over 53 percent of the Scholarships have been given to girl students. It is against the target of over 5 lakh scholarships. The Post-Matric Scholarships are provided to students belonging to the minority communities for studies from class Eleventh to Ph.D. level. Our correspondent reports that under the scheme a cumulative total of over 18 lakh scholarships have been awarded since its inception across the country.
