Center contemplating laws to contain black money: Venkaiah Naidu

Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a radical step for the transformation of the economy in the country. He said the Prime Minister wants to see that the cash transaction in the country is minimum. <br/><br/>Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said the digital transactions that were introduced in the country are in fact the Central government sponsored programme and cashless transactions are meant to bring in transparency. <br/><br/>The Union Minister was addressing the Digi Dhan Mela in Visakhapatnam this evening being organized by the District Administration and NITI AYOG. He said Digi Dhan Melas are meant to educate, involve and to encourage people in taking up the digital ways of cashless transactions. '<br/><br/>He said 125 lakh people have downloaded and are using BHIM App in the country. About 15000 grahaks were awarded with Digidhan puraskars. The mela has 220 stalls in all, accommodating e-Wallet and m-Wallet services, agricultural seed suppliers, UID, Public Distribution System, Girijan Cooperative Corporation, Handlooms and others.<br/><br/>Mr. Venkaiah Naidu later visited the pavilions of Visakha Utsav in RK Beach and inaugurated the 3-day Utsav which began today. Visakha Utsav consists of various cultural events. <br/><br/>Mr. Naidu also said that the Center is contemplating some stricter laws and ways to contain corruption and black money which is running a parallel govenment weakening the administrative system.
