Finance Minister Piyush Goyal has said, Goods and Service Tax (GST) is a symbol of cooperative and collaborative federalism and it has integrated India economically.<br />''<br />''Addressing a function in New Delhi today to mark GST Day celebrations, Mr Goyal said GST is a result of thinking that for a faster economic growth, the country should have one tax regime. He said, India is the first country to have shown courage to implement GST in a country as big as itself.<br />''<br />''Addressing the function through video conferencing Union Minister Arun Jaitley said, the government is in the process of rationalizing GST rates. He said, after the implementation of GST the entire country has become an unified market and all cascading effects have been removed.<br />''<br />''He said, before GST India was a fragmented market and there was a need to create efficient market by implementing the new indirect tax regime. He said GST has also increased the collection of direct tax.<br />''<br />''Speaking on the occasion, Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia said, GST revenue collection has risen to 95,610 crore rupees in the month of June, as against 94,016 crore rupees in the previous month.<br />''<br />''He said the average monthly collection in the previous fiscal has been 89,885 crore rupees. Mr Adhia also said if bogus bills are not issued, then revenues would improve further in the coming months.<br />''<br />''Mr Adhia also acknowledged the efforts of stakeholders, officers and businesses in making GST a success.
