The Center has approved the construction of over six lakh 26 thousand more affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said, the approval was given in the 38th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee held in New Delhi yesterday.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''&nbsp;<br />''AIR correspondent reports that the houses have been sanctioned for eleven states including Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh and Gujarat. Out of total houses, over 2.34 lakh house has been sanctioned for Uttar Pradesh, 1.40 lakh for Andhra Pradesh, 74 thousand for Madhya Pradesh, 50 thousand for Bihar, 30 thousand for Chattisgarh and 29 thousand for Gujarat.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">With these sanctioned houses, the cumulative approvals under the Yojana have become over 60 lakh houses. Considering the extraordinary situation due to heavy flood in Kerala, the Ministry has also decided to release over 486 Crore rupees under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.</span><br />
