The Center has appealed to all major Central trade unions to desist from going on countrywide general strike on the 28th of this month. In an appeal to the trade unions, the Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mr.Mallikarjun Kharge has assured trade unions that the government is always open to discuss the issues relating to labour and resolve the same amicably through consultations. He said, most of the issues raised by the Central trade unions have already been addressed to a substantial extent.

Mr. Kharge said that the proposed strike will not only cause colossal economic loss to the country but also bring hardship and inconvenience to the common man.
