<span style="color: #222222;">The Central Government is promoting electric mobility as an environmental friendly mode of transport and recently sanctioned 5,595 electric buses for inter- and intra-city transportation in 64 cities. Ahmedabad is among the five cities which has got the highest number of buses i.e. 300 each. AIR correspondent reports that after running 10 electric buses on pilot basis in the city, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has got 300 new E -buses under FAME 2 scheme. <br />''<br />''The AMC is in the process of preparing tender documents and setting up infrastructure such as charging stations in the city in order to ply electric buses on roads. Apart from Ahmedabad, Surat has got 150 while Rajkot has got 50 E-buses under the same scheme.  Talking to AIR, AMC Standing Committee Chairman Amul Bhatt said the process for availing subsidy under the scheme has already begun.<br />'' <br />'' The Electric buses will be safe, clean and cheap mode of transport provided a strong network of charging stations and private partnership.<br />'' <br />'' </span><br />
