In Gujarat, the census of Asiatic lions has begun at the Gir forest , the only habitat of the Asiatic lions in the world. <br/><br/>Quoting the chief conservator of forest, AIR bhuj correspondent reports that more then 16oo forest officials and environmental activists are participating in this once in a five year counting of the big cat. <br/><br/>Modern equipments like G.P.S are being used in the four day mega counting process in the Gir forest of SUARASHTRA region. <br/>
