With the enumeration of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the mammoth exercise of Census-2011 kicked off in Nagaland today. The exercise will also mark a milestone as the first-ever National Population Register or NPR will also be prepared.<br/><br/>Appealing to the residents for an honest and accurate census, the chief Minister said that accurate census will be vital in the planning process. <br/><br/>Nagaland Census Director Hekali Zhimomi said that a total of 4200 enumerators and 740 supervisors are pressed into service for undertaking the task. She said all district commissioner of the eleven districts have been designated as Principal census officers. <br/><br/>The census director also informed that the department has introduced a unique approach for carrying out the exercise in the state by setting up a community based monitoring system, where representatives from civil organizations will travel in all the districts to monitor the quality of data.
