Celebrities are indebted to public for attaining stardom: Mike Pandey

The Chairman of the steering committee of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Mike Pandey has said that the Celebrities are indebted to public for attaining stardom. They should participate and spend some time in film festivals rather than coming for just ceremonial reason and then walking away.

He said this in an ‘Open Forum’ on the topic ‘IFFI and Beyond’, organized to know the shortcomings in IFFI-2011, at Panaji, yesterday.

However, the IFFI Director, Shankar Mohan said that the media should not concentrate on renowned film celebrities only but should also promote not so big stars and debutants in the film industry also.

Showcasing many technologically advanced movies, a two-day IFFI 3-Dimensional Entertainment Summit has also started at Kala Academy. It is focusing on deliberating with film industry representatives about 3D movies’ content creation, production and distribution. This is the first such summit in the country.

Meanwhile, the Film Bazar-2011, taking an initiative for those film makers who are looking for gap finance, distribution partners and world sales, has started calling entries from them to provide them a platform to get their needs taken care of.
