<span style="color: #222222;">As the mood and devotion rise to a crescendo for the historic occasion of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, celebrations are planned at various places in Sri Lanka as well. The members of the Indian Community have come together to organize special poojas. The Sita Amman temple at Sita Eliya which is believed to be the place where Goddess Sita was held captive by Ravana is one such place where devotees are participating in the special pooja. Notably, a stone from Sita Eliya was sent to Ayodhya to be included in the construction of Ram Temple in 2021. Celebrations are being held at other temples also including Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple at Rambodha through pooja followed by a Procession and Annadaan. In addition, special prayers are planned at Saraswathy Hall in Colombo where the Pran Pratishtha programme will be viewed through Doordarshan’s live broadcast. Further, the Chinmaya Mission at Colombo has also planned to have prayers and chanting of Sthothrams for Lord Ram. Sri Lanka is closely linked with India as part of the Ramayana trail as Lord Ram is believed to have visited Sri Lanka to save Sita who was held captive by Ravana. Lord Ram is also believed to have installed Shivalingas at three places in Sri Lanka after defeating Ravana.<br />”<br />”Celebrations are being held in the Island Nation which is closely linked with the life of Shri Ram on the historic occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple.
