In Manipur, campaigning for the 60-member state assembly elections has gained momentum with the notification of the elections yesterday.Full Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Dr. SY Quraishi is arriving Imphal this afternoon to take stock of the poll preparedness in the state.The ruling Congress party has, however, got a setback when the Co-ordination Committee of seven proscribed insurgent outfits announced to ban the party in Manipur.In a statement released last night, the Co-ordination Committee of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK, said that the Committee has decided not to allow any political activity of the party including election campaign.Meanwhile, unidentified armed persons have attacked three election offices of the party in Imphal including one bomb blast the last night and two arson attacks.In Thoubal District also, the residence of one sitting Congress MLA was attacked by lobbing two hand grenades.
