The Chief Election Commissioner Dr. SY Quraishi and other two Election Commissioners including BS Sampat and HS Brahma will be reaching Lucknow tomorrow on their two day visit to take stock of poll preparedness.
The Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha has said that on first day of its visit the Election Commission would hold talks with the representatives of all political parties. After this, a meeting will be held with the officials from the districts where election is scheduled in the first four phases.
All divisional commissioners, District Magistrates, Inspector General of police, Deputy Inspector General and district police chiefs from 39 districts will participate in this meeting.
The CEO has said that on January 7, a meeting of officials from remaining 36 districts related with districts falling in the fifth, sixth and seventh phases would be held. The EC team will later hold parleys with the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home and DGP afterwards.
Meanwhile all major opposition parties from the state have demanded immediate removal of officers allegedly working in the favour of ruling party.
Political parties have submitted memorandum to the Commission and the State Governor in this regard.
