The Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi is holding discussion with District Magistrates( DMs) and Superintendents of police in Patna on Monday for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. AIR Patna correspondent reports that Election commissioner V.S.Sampath and Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Jutshi are also participating in this discussion. Mr Quraishi held review meeting with the Bihar Chief Electoral officers Sudhir Kumar Rakesh and other state election officers regarding election preparedness.He will also hold talks with Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state.The main agenda of discussion includes deployment of paramilitary forces, identifying sensitive booths, execution of non-bailable warrants, and other matter regarding transfer of officers who have been posted at one place for the last three years.The commission will announce the dates for the assembly polls after reviewing the election preparedness. Leaders of different political parties have requested on Sunday the Chief Election Commissioner S Y . Quraishi to ensure deployment of central para military forces at every booth and patrolling around sensitive and supersensitive booths for peaceful and impartial elections in the state.Leaders of Congress,BJP,JD (U),RJD,LJP,NCP,BSP,CPI and CPM have submitted their memoranda apprising the commission of their demand.
