The Chief Election Commissioner of India Dr. S. Y Quraishi called on the President of Nepal, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav in Kathmandu. He also met with the Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal and Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas C. Nemwang. In the discussions the President and Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the close cooperation between the Election Commissions of India and Nepal .They expressed confidence that Nepal would benefit from sharing experiences with India.Dr. Quraishi, was on a three day visit Nepal which concluded today. He had come at the invitation of the Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal Mr. Neel Kantha Uprety. Dr. Quraishi also held talks with Mr. Uprety where ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two election Commisions were discussed. The two Chief Election Commissioners also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the field of Electoral Management and Administration on Tuesday.
