Ceasefire violations: 16 injured in Pakistan firing; India puts on hold flag meeting

Pakistani forces resorted to heavy firing and shelling along the entire international border and several places along the LoC in Jammu region last night. Sixteen persons, including four army and a BSF jawan, have been injured.

Quoting BSF sources, AIR correspondent reports that security forces are giving a befitting reply and exchange of fire at many places is still continuing. India has also decided to put on hold the proposal for a flag meeting at the commander-level along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that the government has decided to observe Pakistan's behavior in the coming days before any engagement along the border.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju told reporters in New Delhi that every violation is being responded and will be responded appropriately.
