Ceasefire Violation: India warns Pakistan; Defence Minister says cost of adventurism will be unaffordable

India has asked Pakistan to stop unprovoked firing and shelling at Line of Control and International border if it wants peace on border. In a stern warning, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said, if Islamabad persists with its adventurism, India's forces will make cost of adventurism unaffordable for it.

Mr Jaitley said that International border has never been an issue and most of these ceasefire violations are occurring at the border. He said that Pakistan in these attacks has clearly been an aggressor and it must realise that India's deterrence will be credible.

Commending armed forces for their job in the face of unprovoked attacks from Pakistan, the Defence Minister said, India is not an aggressor but will do whatever is required to defend its territory and people.

Mr Jaitley told media in New Delhi this morning that there is a connection between firing and infiltration as Pakistan uses firing as a cover to help the militant infiltrate into the Indian territory. He said, Pakistan is making efforts to precipitate tension.

The Defence Minister also asked leaders of political parties including Congress and NCP to understand the reality before making any comments.
