In an effort to bring lasting peace in Nagaland, the Ceasefire between the Centre and the NSCN has been extended by another year. The ceasefire agreement between the Union Government and GPRN/NSCN, one of the strongest factions of National Socialist Council of Nagaland is now extended till April 27 next year.<br/><br/>While the Centre was represented by Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary, North East Division of Union Home Ministry, the GPRN/NSCN was represented by Jack Zhimomi and Chenyum Konyak yesterday in New Delhi. The signatories also agreed that the Ceasefire Ground Rules will subject to mutual review and amendment with involvement of both the parties.
