CDC issues order requiring use of face masks in public transportation in US

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an order requiring the use of face masks on nearly all forms of public transportation, starting Monday.<br />''<br />''The order requires face masks to be worn by all travelers on airplanes, ships, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares and at transportation hubs like airports, bus or ferry terminals, train and subway stations and seaports.<br />''<br />''On January 21, President Joe Biden had ordered government agencies to "immediately take action" to require masks in various modes of public transportation.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Under former President Donald Trump, a CDC push to mandate masks in transit was blocked and the agency instead had only issued strong recommendations for mask use. The former President had also rejected efforts by Congress to mandate the mask use.</span><br />
