The Cabinet Committee on Security, CCS is expected to meet today to discuss the prevailing Kashmiri situation. The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said early this week that the CCS will discuss the situation threadbare. Ahead of the CCS meeting, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held meetings with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Finance, Home and Defence Ministers to seek their support on his demand of amendment to the Armed Forces Special Powers Act(AFSPA) or its partial withdrawal. Mr Omar Abdullah said in New Delhi that four districts of the state can be chosen for the withdrawal of AFSPA at present. The Jammu and Kashmir government has also been demanding a comprehensive political package including dialogue with all shades of opinion.
