The Cabinet Committee on Security, CCS, has cleared a proposal of the Home Ministry raising the number of days for cross border trade in Jammu and Kashmir from two to four. <br/><br/>Quoting official sources, PTI reports that the CCS, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, also gave authorisation to Jammu and Kashmir Bank for issuing Letter of Credit for traders to put an end to the barter trade agreement between the two sides. However, there has been no increase in the number of items to be traded across the LoC. <br/><br/>The state government had been pressing for increasing the number of days for cross border trade between the two sides.
