CCPA Fines Khan Study Group Five Lakh Rupees for Misleading Advertisement and Unfair Trade Practice

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed penalty of five lakh rupees for misleading advertisement and unfair trade practice on Khan Study Group. Consumer Affairs Ministry said, the decision was taken to safeguard consumer rights across the country. The CCPA, headed by Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare, has issued an order against Khan Study Group for misleading claims. Every year when Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Civil Services Exam result comes out, various IAS coaching institutes start an advertisement claiming successful candidates to be their students.<br />”<br />”Khan Study Group in its advertisement has made the claim that 682 out of 933 selected students are from their group. The group has also claimed that all top five successful candidates of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022 are from Khan Study Group. The CCPA found out that all five toppers of UPSC only took Mock Interview from Khan Study Group which was free of cost.<br />
