The Cabinet Committee on Investment, CCI, headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today reviewed the status of different projects in the infrastructure sector. Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari told reporters that the CCI also unlocked the bottlenecks which had not been cleared within timeframe mandated by previous CCI meetings.
AIR correspondent reports, the CCI today considered mega infrastructure projects envisaging investment of about 1.6 lakh crore rupees which have been stalled due to lack of various regulatory clearances. The CCI has so far cleared 209 projects with an aggregate investment of three lakh 84 thousand crore rupees.
