The Cabinet Committee on Investment, CCI has reviewed the status of different projects in the infrastructure sector. Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari told reporters that the CCI, headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, also unlocked the bottlenecks which had not been cleared within the timeframe mandated by previous CCI meetings. Our correspondent reports that the CCI yesterday considered mega infrastructure projects envisaging investment of about 1.6 lakh crore rupees, which have been stalled due to lack of various regulatory clearances. The CCI has, so far, cleared 209 projects with an aggregate investment of three lakh 84 thousand crore rupees.
