CCI approves project of four laning on NH 21 in HP

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, CCI, today approved the implementation of the project of four laning of Kiratpur-Ner Chowk section on NH 21 in Himachal Pradesh. The total project cost estimated will be 2356.20 crore rupees out of which 537.37 crore will be for the land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and pre-construction. The total length of the project will be 84.380 kms. The project is covered in the districts of Rupnagar, Bilaspur and Manali in Himachal Pradesh.The project, on completion, will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Kiratpur and Ner Chowk. It will also increase the employment potential for the local labourers for the project activities. The main objective of the project is to expedite the improvement of infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh and also in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Kiratpur and Ner Chowk. The National Highway No. 21 is an important link connecting national capital and tourist destination of Manali in Himachal Pradesh. Also the NH 21 is a major link to Leh in Ladakh. The CCI also approved the implementation of the project of four laning of UP and Haryana border linking – Yamunagar – Saha – Barwala – Panchkula section on NH 73 in Haryana.The project is covered in the districts of Yamunagar, Ambala and Panchkula in Haryana. The total project cost estimated will be 1021.16 crore rupees out of which 86.23 crore will be for the land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and pre-construction. The total length of the project will be 104.770 kms. The project, on completion, will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic. It will also increase the employment potential for the local labourers for the project activities.The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure further approved the implementation of the project of six laning of Vijaywada -Gundugolanu section of NH 5 in Andhra Pradesh. The total project cost estimated will be 2011 crore rupees out of which 327 crore will be for the land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and pre-construction. The total length of the project will be 103.590 kms.The project, on completion, will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Vijayawada – Gundugolanu. It will also increase the employment potential for the local labourers for the project activities.The project is covered in the districts of Guntur, Krishna and West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh.
