CCI approves continuation of schemes of conservation safety in coal mines

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, CCI, today approved a continuation of schemes of conservation safety in coal mines. The Committee which met under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi today said that the scheme provides for development of transportation infrastructure in coal field areas as per schemes. According to a press release issued after the CCI that scheme will help companies to carry out sand stowing and protective works for conservation of coal and safety of coal mines. The scheme is also aimed to assist in construction of rail and road infrastructure for smooth and timely dispatch of coal, sand and mining machinery. An amount of about one thousand crore rupees have been earmarked in the current plan for the purpose.
