CCEA gives green signal for setting up of five more mega food parks

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given its green signal for the setting up of five more mega food parks under the infrastructure development scheme. This is in addition to the ten ongoing projects. The objective of setting up of such parks is to provide excellent infrastructure facilities for food processing industries along the value chain from the farm to the market. Each of these mega food parks is expected to benefit six thousand farmers directly and nearly thirty thousand farmers or producers indirectly. An estimated 100 crore rupee investment will be made for each of the projects. Thirty to forty Food Processing Industries are expected to set up under each of the mega food parks.
