CCEA clears KKR's proposals to acquire stakes in 2 pharma companies

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA today cleared private equity major KKR's proposals to acquire stakes in two pharmaceutical companies. Highly placed sources said, the two deals are estimated to be worth 1,434 crore rupees. The first proposal relates to acquisition of about 38 per cent stake by KKR Floorline Investments PTE in Hyderabad-based Gland Pharma.In the other proposal cleared by the CCEA, KKR would acquire 24.9 per cent stake in Gland Celsus Bio Chemicals Pvt Ltd. In January this year, Competition Commission of India had approved the deals.
