The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved 935 crore rupees for implementing E -courts project in the country. The project is meant to facilitate integration of all courts, sharing of data among courts and creation of a National Judicial Grid. The project will use standard software for all district and subordinate court across the country. According to an official press release, the project covers 14 thousand two hundred forty nine courts in the country. An empowered committee will be constituted in the Department of Justice which will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guindance to the project.
