Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved centrally sponsored road connectivity project for Left Wing Extremism, LWE affected areas to improve rural road connectivity. The project aims to provide connectivity with culverts and cross drainage structures in 44 worst left wing affected and adjoining districts.<br/><br/>It will be implemented as a vertical under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, PMGSY and is critical from security and communication point of view. The fund sharing pattern will be the same as PMGSY in the ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and the states except for the eight North Eastern states and Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, for which the ratio is 90:10.<br/><br/>Finance Ministry will have to allocate 7034.72 crore rupees to Rural Development Ministry for this project from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
