The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved implementation of the programme National Monsoon Mission of the Earth System Science Organisation for a period of five years.

The main objectives of the National Monsoon Mission is to build a working partnership between the academic, Research, Development organisations, both national and international, and operational agencies to improve monsoon forecast skill over the country.
