The CCEA has approved the proposal for four laning of the Demow to Bogibil section of National Highway-37 in Assam. The cost is estimated to be 522 crore rupees excluding the cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities. The total length of the road will be approximately 46 kilometres. The project will expedite improvement of infrastructure in the State and also reduce the time and cost of travel between Nagaon and Dibrugarh. Information and Broadcasting Minister told media the CCEA also approved four laning of the Jorhat to Demow section of National Highway-37 in the state. The estimated cost is 963 crore rupees and the total length of the road will be about 80 kilometres. The CCEA also gave its nod to four laning of Numaligarh to Jorhat section of National Highway-37 in the state. The estimated cost on the 51-kilometre will be 644.60 crore rupees
