The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved expansion of Malanjkhand Copper project.It will be expanded to 5 Million Tonne anually, MTA from the present production of 2 MTA.
The Hindustan copper Limited , HCL will invest over 1856 crore rupees to develop an underground copper ore mine at Malanjkhand Copper Project , in Madhya Pradesh. The fund required for the project will be met by HCL and no budgetary support will be taken from the centre.
In another decision the CCEA approved continuation of Global Fund support to provide the comprehensive health package of Care, Support and Treatment services in the country for a further period of two and half years up to September 2012. It is aimed at improving the survival and quality of life of People living with HIV with a total outlay of 925.31 Crore rupees.
Under the programme, provision of Anti Retroviral Treatment (ART) will also be scaled up through 375 ART centres and 1000 Link ART Centres across the country. Centres of Excellence in HIV care will be further strengthened and expanded. The grant also provides for training of health care facilities and research work.
