The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA has approved the continuation of Agriculture Export Promotion Plan Scheme of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in the 12th Plan period. The decision was taken in CCEA meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Monday evening.The approved proposal with an outlay of Rs. 1,100 crore comprises four components which are transport assistance, infrastructure, market and quality development.AIR correspondent reports that the main objective of the scheme is to enhance the capability of the Indian exporters of agro products and support them in realizing their export potential. It would help in catalyzing the efforts of the exporting community through need based interventions by APEDA at different stages of the supply chain.
