The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved change in the minimum benchmark for eligibility from the existing 80 per cent aggregate marks and above to those who are above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream for a particular board of examination. The amended eligibility will be applicable from the current academic year 2010-11. Through this scheme, approximately 96,000 students have been awarded scholarships in the last two years.<br/>
