CBSE starts pilot project called CBSE-International in 27 schools to evolve international syllabus

The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has made class tenth board examination optional to encourage holistic development of students and reduce exam related stress. In a reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha today HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said majority of stakeholders have given a positive feedback about the changes introduced by the CBSE. He said that changes were anounced by the CBSE in 2009. Mr Sibal said that Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, CCE has been in operation in the schools affiliated to CBSE since the year 2000. The assesment under CCE is being conted towards final grades in class tenth since 2010 -2011 academic year.
