CBSE directs its affiliated schools to ensure strict compliance of National Flag code

The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has directed its affiliated schools to ensure strict compliance of National Flag code. The board in its circular also asked the schools to ensure there is no insult to the national honour.<br/><br/>According to the Flag Code of India, the tricolour can only be made of hand woven wool, cotton, khadi or silk in the appropriate sizes and can not be used for any commercial purpose. The code says, the flag salutation has to be followed by singing of national anthem. The schools have also been asked to use only paper flags for any cultural or sports events.
