Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has asked the schools to install CCTV cameras at all vulnerable areas in their premises and ensure that they are functional at all times.<br/><br/>It has instructed them to get the police verification and psychometric evaluation done for all the staff including bus drivers, conductors and peon in a detailed manner. This came in the wake of recent incident of killing of a class two student in a private school in Gurugram.<br/><br/>In its detailed guidelines, the CBSE has asked schools to get the security and safety audit of their premises and of the personnel by their respective local police station.<br/><br/>In its guidelines to all affiliated schools, the CBSE has directed that the access to school building by outsiders should be controlled and visitors must be monitored.<br/><br/>The Board has instructed that supporting staff should be employed only from authorized agencies and proper records be maintained. Besides, they have also been asked to constitute a parent-teacher-students committee to address the safety needs of the students and to take regular feedback. The CBSE guidelines will hopefully bear results in the coming days and secure tiny tots from falling prey to any untoward incidents.<br/><br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that the Board has also directed for strictly adherence of guidelines issued by it and Human Resource Development Ministry from time to time saying any violation will invite appropriate action including the disaffiliation of the school.
