CBSE announces results of Class 12

Results of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12th have been declared. Students can check their results on the official website of the board: cbseresults.nic.in and also on cbse.nic.in and results.nic.in.<br/><br/>Raksha Gopal from Noida has topped the exam with 99.6 per cent marks. Bhumi Sawant is at the second position with 99.4 per cent. Aditya Jain and Mannat Luthra have secured third rank, with 99.2 per cent. All the three students are from Chandigarh.<br/><br/>Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar called the top four students and and congratulated them.<br/>Board officials say, sutdents scoring in the 95-100 per cent range has increased to 10,091 from last year's 9,351. However, pass percentage fell by more than one per cent to 82 from 83.05 per cent last year.<br/><br/>CBSE has opened a helpline number : 1800118004 for counselling for students. 65 counsellors will talk to students and parents on this helpline number between 8 am to 10 pm.

CBSE announces results of Class 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education will announce results of class 12 of all regions this morning. The results will be available on the websites- www.results.nic.in, ww.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that CBSE has advised public not to visit its office for collection of results, as it will not be available there. A total of 10,98,891 candidates from 10,678 schools had registered for examinations which were held from 9th of March to 29th of April. <br/><br/>Delhi region has the highest number of candidates, which number 2,58,321, followed by Panchkula and Ajmer. A total of 2497 candidates under the disabilities category had also registered for this year's exam. <br/><br/>CBSE has maintained that it will follow the Delhi High Court order on the moderation policy, which was scrapped last month. The high court had said that the decision by the CBSE to scrap moderation policy would have a drastic effect on the students. <br/><br/>Moderation policy is a practice in which students are given extra marks in subjects regarded unusually difficult, or when there have been differences in the sets of question papers. Prior to the court order, CBSE had decided to remove the Moderation Policy this year in order to keep the inflation of marks in check.
