CBIC celebrates completion of 60 years of Customs Act, 1962

<span style="color: #222222;">Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has lauded the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) for the robustness of their duty especially during the time of COVID-19.<br />''<br />''Attending celebrations of 60 years of Customs Act, 1962 in New Delhi, Ms Sitharaman said that robustness was not written in the act but it was how the officials took it.<br />''<br />''The Minister also underlined the need for making the Customs Act future ready and said that the Customs officers also have to be ready for newer technological challenges.<br />''<br />''She stressed on adapting more solution-oriented skills to cope with the rapid change that the world is going through currently.<br />''<br />''In the context of G20, Ms Sitharaman encouraged the customs officers to act as leaders and show the world how they have been able to overcome modern and newer challenges with new ideas.<br />''<br />''Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary appreciated the role played by Turant Customs which is faceless, paperless and contactless, in the facilitation of trade.</span><br />
