CBI writes to EC asking for asset details of TMC MPs, MLAs named in Narada case

The CBI has written to the Election Commission asking for asset details of TMC MPs and MLAs named in Narada sting case. Earlier in April, CBI had registered an FIR against 13 accused, including senior Trinamool Congress leaders Mukul Roy, Saugata Roy and Madan Mitra.<br/><br/>The investigative agency had charged them under the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as conspiracy after probing the footage of Narada sting.<br/><br/>Ahead of West Bengal Assembly polls , Narada news had released a series of videos of sting operations which showed 13 TMC minister and leaders accepting bribes in return of favours.<br/><br/>The sting was conducted by the channel for 2 years in order to expose the alleged corrupt practices of Mamata Banerjee-led government in the state. In March, Calcutta High Court had ordered a preliminary probe to be conducted by CBI in the sting operation case.
