<br/>The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has unearthed Railway Recruitment Scam running into several crores of rupees. The investigating agency spokesperson said it was done by conducting simultaneous raids at Mumbai, Bangalore, Raipur, Kolkata & Hyderabad. He said this scam relates to the examinations of Assistant Loco Pilot and Assistant Station Master. <br/> <br/>Several incriminating documents have been recovered from the searches at Kolkata, Hyderabad and Raipur. Searches at other places in the country are in progress. Souces said the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) across the country conduct examinations for induction of staff in Group ‘C’ category of the railways. <br/> <br/>On 6th of this month, examinations were held across the country for the induction of Assistant Loco Pilot and on 13th for Assistant Station Master. The then Additional Divisional Railway Manager(ADRM), Raipur in connivance with the officials of RRB, Mumbai could secure a copy of the question paper before the examination date and provided the same to several aspirants mobilized by him with the help of his agents.<br/> <br/>The aspirants of the examinations so mobilised were asked to pay huge amounts of money and deposit their original certificates with the then ADRM and only after that the question paper was provided to them one day prior to the examination. The agreement is to pay the remaining portion of money and take away the certificates after the declaration of the results. Each candidate pays to the tune of 3,50,000/-rupees for getting selected. It is learnt that similar scams are being perpetrated by several gangs in different parts of the country in connivance with the public servants of Indian Railways. The CBI has asked the aspirants to be vigilant and if such things are noticed, they should immediately bring it to the notice of the nearest branch of the agency.S M Sharma, Chairman of Railway Recruit Board of Mumbai has been placed under suspension by Railway in connection with recruitment exam scam. <br/> <br/>In a related development, eight persons were arrested in the question paper leak scam of the Railway Recruitment Board in Hyderabad. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad DIG of Central Bureau of Investigation LakshmiNarayana has said the Railway Recruitment Board officials have a clear role in the scam. The question papers of the Board exam held on 6th and 13th of this month were reportedly leaked. Stating that the opportunity to write the Board exam from any where in the country has been taken as advantage, the DIG said Rs 17 lakh and certificates of over 400 candidates have been seized from the accused. He said that details would be known only after a thorough enquiry . <br/>
