The CBI has sought more time from the Supreme Court to file charge sheet against former Telecom Minister A Raja and others in 2G spectrum case. The CBI informed the court that an 80,000-page charge sheet will be filed on April 2nd in the 2G case. The Enforcement Directorate told the court that the property of erring telecom companies would be attached immediately after filing of charge sheet for FEMA violations. The ED also informed that Benami transactions took place while bringing of foreign money in telecom companies which were granted licenses during the tenure of Raja as telecom minister. The court was also informed that a joint team of CBI and the ED would be sent to certain foreign countries to track the trail of FDI in erring telecom companies involved in the 2G case.Meanwhile, the CBI on Tuesday arrested two more persons, Asif Balwa and Rajeev B Agarwal for alleged involvement in money transfer to DMK's Kalaingar TV channel in connection with the 2-G spectrum case. The two were summoned from Mumbai and arrested in the national capital on Tuesday after they allegedly did not cooperate with the CBI during questioning. The two would be produced before a designated court in Delhi tomorrow. Asif is the younger brother of former Managing Director of DB-Etislat group Shahid Balwa, who has already been arrested by the CBI. Shahid's association with the underworld is being probed by the agency separately. With the two fresh arrests, the number of people take into custody in the case has gone up to six which includesformer Telecom Minister A Raja, his personal aide R K Chandolia and former Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura.
