The CBI on Wednesday told the Supreme court that it will file a charge sheet against former telecom minister A Raja and two companies by the 31st of this month for their involvement in the 2G spectrum allocation case. In its latest status report filed in a sealed envelope before a bench of justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly, the CBI submitted that many new facts have come out during the probe into the scam. Senior advocate K K Venugopal, appearing for the investigating agency, said, the main charge sheet will be filed against A Raja and two companies by March 31.Meanwhile, Saddiq Batcha, Managing Director of real estate firm, Green House Promoters and a close associate of Raja today allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Chennai. He was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. The residence and office of the Green House Promoters were raided by the CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. Raja's relatives have stakes in Green House promoters.BJP has demanded an enquiry into the alleged suicidal death of Sadiq Batcha. Senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that a through enquiry into the matter is requried.
