CBI to convert its 71 exclusive courts into e-courts

The CBI is in the process to convert its recently sanctioned 71 exclusive courts into e-courts and has already started training prosecutors. CBI Director Ashwani Kumar today said the new courts are in the process of being established. He said later these CBI courts will be converted into e-courts. Mr. Ashwini Kumar said the CBI has already initiated steps in this direction by providing laptops and cell phones to all its investigators and prosecutors.Speaking after signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NASSCOM, Kumar said the CBI will further strengthen its partnership with Financial and High-tech Crime Division of the INTERPOL. Adarsh Housing Society challenges cancellation of OC Members of the controversial Adarsh Housing Society today approached the Bombay High Court, challenging the cancellation of Occupation Certificate and cut in electricity and water supplies. The Society, in its petition, has contended that all clearances and necessary permissions were obtained from the authorities concerned before construction of the building. It said, the notice cancelling the occupation certificate violates principles of natural justice. The petition would come up for hearing in due course of time.
