A CBI team headed by a Special Director will visit violence hit Kokrajhar and Chirang district today as a part of their investigation. Talking to AIR, state Home Secretary G D Tripathi said that the investigative agency will enquire seven cases initially as finalised by the Union Home Ministry. Though Assam government had referred 309 cases to the CBI, the rest will be scrutinised in later stages. Meanwhile, the situation is improving in the violence marred areas and no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere in the last 72 hours.
Army continues flag marches to keep a watch on miscreants. Curfew will be relaxed in entire Chirang district today for 12 hours from 6 am. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh visited a few relief camps in Dhubri district on Thursday and took stock of the situation.
