CBI takes over probe into Badaun rape and murder case

The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, has taken over the probe into the Badaun rape – and – murder case of two teenage cousins.

A 20-member team of the premier investigation agency headed by a DIG will reach the crime spot in Badaun in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow.

Earlier, the Centre had issued a notification for a CBI investigation into the case.

The Department of Personnel and Training yesterday issued the notification, which is a mandatory requirement for the CBI to take up a probe in a state-specific incident.
